Shadowcloak release self-titled debut EP today!

Self released by the Asheville, NC quintet, the album has been catching the ear of fans and critics alike.

Forged in the smoke-strewn mountains of Asheville, North Carolina in 2023, Shadowcloak summons the spirits of bands like Mastodon, Cult Of Luna, and Pelican.

Crafting ardently patient movements with delicate synth, deep fusions of inspired guitar work and raw, methodical drumming, Shadowcloak hurdles listeners through vacuous space. On the other side is a sense of calm and completion through Shadowcloak’s unique brand of visceral story telling.

Shadowcloak is a force to be reckoned with and that is apparent at their shows. Having shared the stage with Howling Giant, Horseburner, Friendship Commanders, Black Lung, and Faerie Ring, the band is determined to bring their brand of heavy to the stage.

“Shadowcloak call back to how they set forth and present a concise summary of most (I wouldn’t say all) of the EP’s scope, and likewise showcase the potential for creative growth and expanding on the ideas presented here. We live in a universe of infinite possibilities, so that may or may not happen, but by the end of Shadowcloak’s sub-half-hour, it’s pretty clear they’ve figured more than a few things out.” – JJ (The Obelisk)

“I’ve nothing but confidence for Shadowcloak given everything that’s been summoned forth in this debut with its follow-up not coming soon enough. Even it takes until those very mountains wittle away, I will wait and I can only ask you join my in my vigilance for my very bones tell me this will be a show not to be missed.” – Head-Banger Reviews

“The North Carolina natives drop their debut EP, with 5 songs that attempt to add something extra to that sludge/post-metal genre by way of weaving in of subtle textures via some understated synth work. Don’t worry, they don’t forget to bring the riffs too!” – Matt Bladen/MusipediaOMetal
