Flint, Michigan based shoegaze/space rock band The Headless presents new single and lyric video »Cast Into The Firmament« featuring Maddison McConnell (War On The Horizon).

Released on August 11th, 2026, »Cast Into The Firmament« is the second of three singles coming out this summer and fall.

“»Cast Into The Firmament« is a song about loss and acceptance, or possibly about fish in outer space, and something about a very bad horse. It takes its cues from space rock bands like Failure and Hum, and there is one very explicit influence woven into the bridge, an easter egg the band is happy to leave for listeners to decode on their own.”

The Headless is a space rock and alt metal band from Flint, Michigan. They make enormous rock songs built to fill stadiums, heavy and guitar-driven, layered and atmospheric under big vocal hooks. The sound harks back to the grunge era and early-aughts alt-metal, laced with over-the-top theatrical rock. Think Jim Steinman writing a single for Alice In Chains, or a Boston and Baroness crossover. For fans of Failure, Faith No More, Hum, and Superheaven.
