Earthworks is a homegrown stoner doom band from the Palouse area in Washington.

In the backwoods of the Palouse, during the year of 2018, Reilly Tennesen (guitar), Garrison Kadau (drums), and David Bell (bass) would collaborate on a doom-style project then known as “Oakflesh”. It wouldn’t be until the winter of 2022 that the band would eventually collect its fourth and final member, Mercedes Macomber (vocals), marking their transformation into Earthworks. With an eclectic flair buoyed by an undeniably bluesy undercurrent, Earthworks rattles the ground with witchy lyrics and heavy riffs, though not without the occasional escape into spacey, atmospheric soundscapes.

Fresh off the back of a debut album release in February of 2025, the self-titled »Earthworks«, the band continues writing and playing, happy to put more music into the stratosphere through live shows and new material. Earthworks returned with their new EP »Volume 3«, released on September 19, 2026.

Earthworks comments on »Volume 3« EP: “After much work and a long wait, Earthworks’ second EP and third overall release, »Volume 3«, is now streaming on all major platforms. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by ourselves (everyone say, “thank you, David.”), »Volume 3« is a labor of love and personal growth, and features three songs distinctly different from one another. Earthworks hopes you enjoy our latest project, and be sure to tell us what you think!

But, along with this happy news comes a bit of bittersweet news: »Volume 3« is not only our first self-produced effort at a polished release for our listeners, but is also the final release of new music that will feature our guitarist and founder, Reilly Tennesen.

He has been a driving force behind the Earthworks sound, and we will forever cherish what he has created by spearheading this project. Now, he passes the reigns to the rest of us and is off to pursue other projects (Dazer), and we at Earthworks couldn’t be more proud of him. We wish him the absolute best and look forward to his music career moving forward! And, don’t worry, folks. We’ve already discussed collaborations and other potential projects with Reilly, so our collective creative juices aren’t done flowing yet.”
