American stoner/fuzz rock band IROH unveil the second single and title track from their upcoming EP »They Ride«
Winston-Salem, North Carolina based stoner/fuzz rock band IROH has released the second single and title track from their upcoming EP »They Ride«, due out on April 20th, 2023 via Seed Man Records.
»They Ride« is a concept record that puts you in the back seat of a Dodge Demon on the run from zombie hordes.
Recorded with Jamie King (HolyRoller, Between The Buried And Me) and Mark Brown (Highly Suspect).
In the not too distant future an ancient demonic force dormant since the Great Flood is awakened. It possesses the most powerful people across the globe. Through these possessions and human greed the zombie virus is created and unleashed. It spreads fast, turning people against each other, causing mass panic and fear, and reanimating the dead.
Conceptually, »They Ride« is a literal ride. Like, in a car. A 1972 Dodge Demon to be precise. All of the songs and the storyline parts are presented through this car radio.
Listeners will join the main characters as they ride through the wastelands of Southeastern USA searching for signs of life and fighting the zombie hordes. All to a most excellent soundtrack.
Between songs the EP is mostly narrated by The Seed Man who is likely the very last pirate radio host. He knows there is something suspect about the zombie virus and he is determined to tell the world.
Every musical clip that you hear on the radio in »They Ride« is related to IROH in some way. The radio station Bumpers are all done by a close friend. Seed man is played by a close friend as well, and all of the songs that you scroll by are from IROH members’ other projects or by friends of the band.
Who will survive and what will be left of them? Be not afraid. Take the ride.
Recorded and produced by Mark Brown and Jamie King.
Mixed and mastered by Jamie King.
