Sootrah is an experimental noise/post-rock/stoner duo from Yerevan, Armenia inspired by such bands as Russian Cyrcles, Bossk, Desbot, Jesss and others. The band was formed in April 2023 by Ruben Hayrapetyan (48hrs and Hourless) and Andrey Sobolev (Nemoy, Otrazheniya, Tekel’). After the formation, Sootrah released their debut mini-album »No Negative« in January 2024, played multiple concerts in Yerevan, Tbilisi and Moscow. Sootrah’s second studio album »Fair Enough« dropped on January 16, 2026. The next thing they plan is a promo tour including such countries as Armenia, Georgia, Russia and Serbia.
The band commented: “It’s been a while and finally our second studio album »Fair Enough« is ready and will be out very soon. But first we want to tell you a little more about it before you can enjoy it on platforms.
Work on the album started almost after releasing the first one – »No Negative« and we did crazy things and experimented a lot to get to the final result we have on our hands right now. We’ve been writing our music in 2 countries almost separately during the past 2 years, went through downfalls, broken arm, tough times but here we have it, our child, product of endless hours spent behind our instruments, full of ambience, noise, heaviness and last but not least – emotions. The album represents a bunch of emotions barely related to each other, saying almost no words. Immersive guitars, skullcrushing drums make your heart beat faster, make your eyes see what you’ve never seen and hear the notes that tell more than words.
Thanks to everyone who were with us during preparations, recording sessions and all of them who supported us in any way possible.”
