Atmospheric doom metal collective The Answer Lies In The Black Void has signed with Pelagic Records.

The label elaborates: “Pelagic sign The Answer Lies In The Black Void, the alchemical union of vocalist Martina Horváth (Thy Catafalque) and composer/multi-instrumentalist Jason Köhnen (The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, Bong-Ra).

The duo channel their shared devotion to all shades of doom into what they call Transcendental Doom—a fusion of towering heaviness, ambient textures, folk elements, and electronic undercurrents.

Exploring themes of inner struggle, transformation, and the hidden architecture of the soul, their music balances sonic weight with spiritual introspection. Following their acclaimed debut »Forlorn« (2021) and its successor »Thou Shalt« (2023), the band expanded their vision with »Transcendental« (2025), further deepening their signature blend of soul-crushing intensity and existential depth.”
