Atmospheric gothic/doom metal duo Remina stream a “deconstructed” version of their debut album »Strata« exclusively on Bandcamp!

To commemorate the upcoming first anniversary of Remina‘s debut album »Strata«, the band prepared a Bandcamp exclusive “deconstructed” version of the album in both instrumental and ambient versions for those interested.

The band comments: “While we’re working on the live shows and new material for our second album, we decided to release a ‘deconstructed’ version of »Strata« for those interested in hearing the album in a new light. This edition is Bandcamp exclusive and contains both the instrumental version and ambient version of all 7 tracks from the album. You can find it on our Bandcamp page!

Please keep in mind that these songs were written to be heard in their original context, with all music carefully woven together with vocals as the centerpiece. These versions are simply a bonus for those who enjoyed the album and want to dive deeper.

Remina was formed in 2021 by Mike Lamb (Sojourner, Light Field Reverie) and Heike Langhans (ex-Draconian, ex-ISON, Light Field Reverie, :LOR3L3I:).

The band, born just about one year later than the other shared project by Lamb and Langhans, Light Field Reverie, aims to focus on the doomier side of their music, taking a rather cosmic approach. “We wanted Remina to be a place where we could focus on our love of space and sci-fi exclusively,” Lamb said.

At the end of this dark spaceway was »Strata«, the band’s debut album set for release in November. Written and recorded between New Zealand, South Africa and Germany, Remina’s debut has hints of all the other current and former projects of both musicians, yet sounds like something different and unique.

“»Strata«’s songs and themes are heavily inspired by some of our favorite sci-fi like Tsutomu Nihei’s »Blame!«, the series/books of »The Expanse«, and the film »Sunshine«; all of which have tracks directly related to them,” the band added.
