Berlin-based instrumental post-metal/doom outfit RÝR has delivered another intense taste of their third full-length album, entitled »Dislodged«, which will be out on April 11 via Moment Of Collapse Records. Post-metal and doom often lean either into ethereal ambiance or relentless heaviness, but RÝR masterfully bridges the gap. Founded in 2018 by guitarist Marius Jung, the band – now consisting of Jung, bassist Florian Fricke, and drummer Eric Knoop – has always sought to fuse pounding rhythms and intricate riffs with immersive atmospheres. With »Dislodged«, they have fully realized this vision.
From the very first track, »Dislodged« envelops the listener in a swirling storm of sonic textures. Each song builds tension through hypnotic, layered guitar work before exploding into crushing crescendos of distortion and thunderous percussion. The dynamic interplay between the instruments creates an almost cinematic experience, as if the music itself is telling a wordless story of struggle and resilience.
Despite its heaviness, the album is not without moments of fragile beauty.
