Sydney, Australia based dirty stoner/doom/sludge quartet Old Goat Smoke presents their first demo, entitled »Demo 2023«, which was just released on September 26th, 2023.

Old Goat Smoke is a 4 piece, formed in December 2022 from Sydney, Australia. All four members have been in the local scene in various other stoner, doom, psych and hardcore bands over many years.

Aim was to get together and fuse some old school doom and sludge drawing influences from Electric Wizard, Cathedral, Bongzilla, Church Of Misery, Eyehategod and adding some pepper from underground bands such as Charger, Iron Monkey, Dystopia, Dopethrone, Meth Drinker and with ‘tongue in cheek’ lyrical content. Twisting filth, dirt, doom and lots of hooks.

»Demo« is first release consisting of three tracks with a varied range starting from a bit of groove with »Old Goat Smoke«, getting a bit darker with »Return To Dirt« and then getting filthy with »The Great Hate«.

Debut album due in 2024 so stay tuned. In the meantime, prepping for first shows in November locally.
