Adelaide, Australia based doom flavoured heavy metal duo Devils Victim (feat. Phil Howlett of Lucifer’s Fall) presents their self-titled debut album, which was just released on May 15th, 2026 in digital format. Limited cassette release will be available later this month via Drugula’s Crypt.

Devils Victim is raw and uncompromising old school doomed heavy metal. Formed in 2025 and based in Adelaide Australia, Devils Victim was born out of main man Phil Howlett’s (Lucifer’s Fall, Solemn Ceremony, Zlortcht & Caprahed) desire to record a traditional heavy metal project with some doom influences. All the music and lyrics were written and recorded by Phil and then sent off to Shayne Joseph (Zombie Hunger, Zlortcht, Trebuchet, ex-Eldritch Rites & Dire Fate) in Melbourne to add in manic lead guitar.

Along with Phil’s usual traditional doom metal influences, other influences here include early Iron Maiden, Celtic Frost, Motörhead and just general old style heavy metal.

In the band’s own words:

Phil: “I just wanted to record something that was generally more uptempo then my usual stuff whilst keeping a traditional sound based in 80’s Heavy Metal. I was aiming to keep it raw, energetic, heavy and uncompromising whilst at the same time trying to keep it relatively simple and catchy.”

All songs written, recorded and mastered by Phil Howlett in the dungeon during 2025. Drums recorded at AGS Music rehearsal rooms. All lead guitar parts written by Shayne Joseph and recorded in Shayne’s Demonic Hellhole. Album artwork by IRONHAND.
