An army of sound marching, relentlessly surging like a merciless avalanche of mayhem and distortion. Bifter arise with a sonic boom of fuzz laden riffs and weave a demented tapestry of stoner, sludge and doom. Soul crushing dual vocals feature atop a violent wall of guitar, bass and drums.

Hell raising headline tours have seen Bifter spread their eye watering riffs all around Australia. Playing heavyweight shows with Astrodeath, The Ugly Kings and at Sunburn Stoner Doom Festival to name a few. The band’s first international support on the Greenleaf (SWE) Tour crushed in Feb 2025, coinciding with release of the band’s lead single »March Of The Imp« off the new album “First Impressions of Hell.”

Following their stomping first single »March Of The Imp« and its epic music video, the lads follow up with a swift punch to the gut on second single »Kianpraty«. Riffs and hooks galore storm the gates with murderous intent, as Bifter pound another nail into the sonic coffin that is »First Impressions Of Hell«.

About the track:

“Given the prevalence of mythical demons within the doom metal scene, Bifter showcase an intriguing and unique myth from Indigenous Australian folklore, The Kianpraty.

The Kianpraty, or Bunyip, is a mythological creature from Indigenous Australian folklore. The word ‘bunyip’ translates to ‘devil’ or ‘evil spirit’ in the Wemba-Wemba language. Yearning for a song about an Australian mythological beast, Bifter tells the tale of a lone nomad who suffers dire consequences whilst walking along the Murray river at dusk.

The single sees Bifter conjure a mix of stoner metal riffs and hellish vocals to portray one of the most interesting yet relatively unspoken beasts of Aboriginal Australian Mythology.”
