The EP forms a four-part descent into the ocean’s chasm; each of the four songs is introduced or concluded by a drone track. On the way down, »A Thousand Invisible Eyes« stare straight into the listener’s soul, hidden realms are unearthed »Behind Walls Of Ice«, one is hurled through the »Vortex Of Infinite Despair«, and finally forced to witness, with revulsion, the harrowing sight of »Hestia Drowning«.
The journey cuts through bleak soundscapes where distorted guitar walls, deep growls, and icy screams collide with massive, monolithic riffs. The band remains steadfast in their mission to fuse the suffocating weight of doom with the brutal directness of death metal and the cold, ritualistic atmosphere of black metal. Yet the level of stark, hate-ridden, desperate aggression has grown significantly.
With this release, the band proves that extreme metal can still carve new paths in 2026. They blur genre boundaries without denying their roots, creating a work that will captivate both long-time followers and new listeners alike. Biography:
Founded in 2020 in Graz, Austria, Guyođ have since devoted themselves to a unique style of death metal with a strong tendency towards both doom and black metal. Guyođ’s live shows go beyond the mere sounds played on stage. They are ceremonies; immersive rituals characterized by an intensity that transcends the music alone.
Music as well as lyrics draw their main inspiration from the endless depth and darkness of the ocean, the creative and destructive power of water, the bleak vastness of the great unknown.
Guyođ released their first output »Alluvial Soil«, a split with LEHM, on January 23rd, 2022. Their debut album »Heart Of Thy Abyss« was raised from the depths on 4 November 2023, and was published on CD, LP and MC. The first single from the album, »Watcher In The Dark«, was released on September 25th, 2023 with a video by Revvidy.
A new chapter is being opened with Guyođ’s 2026 EP »Death Throes Of A Drowning God«, expanding their stylistic range and a more focused approach.
Alluvial Soil:
The split of Guyođ and LEHM titled »Alluvial Soil« features two songs of each band and was released in 2022 as tape edition, limited to 100 pieces. On this output, Guyođ present their songs »Into The Temple Of Vepar« and »Unfathomable Depths«, which have become classics in their live sets.
Heart Of Thy Abyss:
Guyođ’s debut album, »Heart Of Thy Abyss« was released in November 2023 and is a massive venture into their sonic realms. With 9 songs and a total length of over one hour (including their single »Watcher In The Dark« and the trilogy »Thy Everlasting Lightless Realm«), it’s a tour de force of blackened doom/death metal. »Heart Of Thy Abyss« is available on tape, CD and two different 2-LP editions.
