The Heavy Minds are a garage-psych band based in Upper Austria. Even though the idea of genre-boundaries is quite meaningless for the band, it would probably be most appropriate to claim that the boys are influenced by a huge musical melting pot of sounds of the late 60’s and 70’s, garage/prog/krautrock, lo-fi, neo-psychedelia and all sorts of underground rawness.

Says the band: “Record number III is, again, self-produced and this time mixed by Bene (aka My Friend Peter) who put a helluva lot energy in making the absolute best out of the new material which we think is easily the most consistent we’ve put out so far.”

“The new record examines a post-pandemic world that’s frighteningly brutal and exhibits a spirit of primitivism. Power through strength, war and the exploitation of lower social classes are socially acceptable and felt accepted again. »Beyond Gloom« is a mirror of our time.” – Tom Gasperlmair
