Written by vocalist Dominik Dörfler in 2019, fourteen years after the loss of a very close friend, »Wherever You Are« is one of the most personal songs the band has ever created.

The song remained untouched for years before Our Ceasing Voice returned to it while working on »The Origin Of Everything«. Revisiting the music and lyrics became an unexpected journey through grief, anger and, ultimately, forgiveness.
“Working on it really helped me cope with this loss, see it in a different light, replace that feeling of anger with a kind of forgiveness toward myself, and immortalize the memory of a beautiful person.”

Nearly a decade after their last full-length release, »The Origin Of Everything« marks a powerful return for the Innsbruck-based quartet. Written over several years, the album reflects on identity, memory, belonging and personal transformation, exploring the tension between embracing the future while confronting the past.

Blending cinematic post rock atmospheres, crushing post metal dynamics and alternative rock sensibilities, the record expands the band’s sonic palette while remaining unmistakably true to its identity. Echoes of Caspian’s expansive soundscapes, the weight of Cult of Luna and the emotional depth of Mark Lanegan coexist naturally throughout an album built on contrast, vulnerability and intensity.
