In early 2020, Michael Haumer (guitar, vocals) and Florian Miehe (guitar, vocals) started jamming about Blues and Rock ideas in a living room in Vienna’s 17th district. Only a few months later the home-produced EP “Stranger” was released and as a result the formation was expanded to include Daniel Batliner on bass and Andreas Mittermühlner on drums and Samsara Joyride was born.

“Hard guitar rock, garnished with aggressive, dark and melancholic elements flows through songs that often merge into one another with a session character and blues rock references.” — Curt München

The production is based on a live recording, played in over the course of a weekend, using a combination of restored vintage tube mixers and compressors as well as contemporary digital recording technology.

Four additional recording sessions followed in which the tracks were rounded off by overdubbing additional instrument tracks and finally two more studio days in which the team, consisting of producer Hannes Mottl, the band and the background singer Laura Fichtenkamm recorded the vocals.
