Belgian post-metal band Juneau unveils second full-length album »Scraps Of The Final Lights«

Belgian post-metal outfit Juneau has released their second studio album, »Scraps Of The Final Lights«, out now via Tokyo Jupiter Records, A Cheery Wave Records, and De Mist Records. Marking a bold new chapter in their evolution, the record showcases the band’s signature raw energy, brooding atmosphere, and deeply emotional soundscapes.

Comprising five tracks, the album builds on the earlier release of the single »Heave«, which offered a first glimpse into Juneau’s shifting sonic landscape. More recently, the track »Observer« was unveiled on YouTube together with an official music video.

The title »Scraps Of The Final Lights« conjures images of fading fragments of light – symbols of fragile hope in times of darkness. The band explains:

“For some, it may speak of brokenness and loss; for others, those scraps of light represent resilience or personal meaning. That openness is essential to us – it allows the album to tell not only our story, but also to leave space for listeners to find their own experiences within it. Musically, this tension inspires a blend of intense, dark textures and fleeting moments of clarity.”

Recorded at Studio Jupiter, the album is supported by Tokyo Jupiter Records and A Cheery Wave Records (CD) and De Mist Records (Vinyl).

To celebrate the release, Juneau will perform a special release show on October 25 at De Wommel in Wommelgem, joined by Walfgang. Tickets are available HERE.

Other tour dates this year include gigs in Germany, France, Czech Republic and Japan.

»Scraps Of The Final Lights« is out now on all major streaming platforms:
Bandcamp | Spotify | Apple Music

About Juneau:

Juneau is an alternative metalband that originated from Heist-op-den-Berg, a town located in the Flanders region of Belgium. Known for their atmospheric and dynamic sound, Juneau blends elements of post-rock, doom, black metal, and other heavy genres, creating a unique musical identity that resonates with fans across Belgium and beyond.

Formed in 2019, the band initially consisted of drummer Soren Van Bauwel and guitarists Kevin Cravillon and Antoon Verbeeck, who share a deep passion for creating emotionally charged music. Their sound is often characterized by rich guitar textures and intricate and dynamic drumming. Heavy smacks and energetic guitar rhythms are just a fragment of the music the Belgians produce. Swaying, atmosphere-drenched melodies get into the play as well. Inside all the heaviness the trio keeps the eyes on melodic segments to uplift their work to an emotional connectivity.

Juneau first garnered attention in the Belgian music scene with their debut EP (2020), which showcased their ability to mix melodic hooks with atmospheric elements. As their following grew, they performed across various venues in Belgium, quickly gaining a reputation for their engaging live shows and the raw emotion they brought to the stage.

Over time, Juneau continued to develop their sound with the release of their full-length »Cloak« (2021). The band’s music evolved, incorporating more experimental elements while maintaining their signature blend. In 2023 and 2024 the trio played their first headliner-shows in Belgium and abroad and introduced some new tunes in their setlist.

With the release of the new album, »Scraps Of The Final Lights«, the band continues to push boundaries with their creativity and dedication to their craft.
