The band comments: “Time to share the beautiful cover art of our upcoming album »After The Storm«. It’s another stunning work of Brooke Shaden, entiteld »Asunder«. We are delighted to work with Brooke for our fifth album in a row.”

This is what she had to say: “The world gives us so many ways to enter or exit. Hands pulling you under, hands holding you up. Sinking or floating. Going in or coming out. Sunrise or sunset. But when you do enter, show up. Look at the multitude of beginnings we are offered and remember to say yes, resoundingly, especially when you feel fear. Making this picture reinstilled in me my inevitable, effervescent magic.”

Pre-orders follow next month, release date is September 27th, 2024.

Formed early 2008 in Mechelen (Belgium), Marche Funèbre started out as disciples of doom death metal in the vein of the British bands that formed the scene in the 90ties. Later on, the quintet developed their own sound, combining elements from doom, death, black and heavy metal, meandering between soothing melodies and galloping riffs.

Meanwhile releasing an interesting discography, consisting of 4 full-length albums and a handful of other releases. On the live front they established their name through energetic shows all over Europe, and even landing them a US tour. They shared the stage with most of the big names in their scene and beyond.

On their 15th anniversary show the band waved long time guitar player Peter goodbye, while the doomed quintet still recorded their 5th album in their long lasting line-up, this time with renowned producer Martin Furia (Destruction, Nervosa). After finishing the recordings early 2024 a new guitar player was found in the form of Fré De Schepper (Carrion, Lemuria). With a new label (Ardua Music) and a new album under their belt, Marche Funèbre is ready for the next step in their career.
