Belgian epic doom metal formation High Inquisitor Woe released their brand new stunning album »Painted Vision Of An Era Forlorn« through Gio Smet Records on October 28th, 2024.

High Inquisitor Woe comments: “We have finally found our way back to the original path we set out on in 2014 when we started this band. These songs represent what we like about the doom metal genre, and for the first time ever we were in complete control of the whole process. Compositions, lyrics, production, mixing and mastering,… it was all done in house. The sound is raw, like musicians playing music with no AI rearing its ugly head. Prepare yourself for what can only be described as a journey from hopeful light, to endless darkness. From the most epic, glorious melodies, to the deepest, most evil passages we have ever written. The message must forever be: REPENT!”

The label adds: “The duo had some “hiccups” along the way while recording their new album. But nonetheless, they delivered brilliantly with »Painted Vision Of An Era Forlorn«! With this release, the guys have proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the Belgian and international metal scene!”

High Inquisitor Woe was conceived as a two piece band in late 2014. The primary purpose has always been creating a blend of traditional doom metal and other heavy genres. With lyrical singing but carefully seasoned with other vocal styles as well. The deeply dynamic songs take you on a mystical journey through movies, comics, both fictional and scientific literature, and many other things. To date, High Inquisitor Woe have released 2 EPs, 1 full-length, and 1 live EP. These endeavors have involved an ever growing number of cooperating musicians, with Glenn and Mathijs being the only constants.
