Antwerp, Belgium based sludge/doom metal band Throatsnapper return with new single and music video »Getting Even«. This is the first single taken from the band’s sophomore full-length album, »About Life«, which will be released on May 10th, 2024 via Consouling Sounds.

Five years following the release of their »About The Dead« album in 2019, new material by Throatsnapper is ready to be unleashed upon the masses. »About Life« is scheduled for release on May 10th. Available on CD, black vinyl and green vinyl.

This album serves as a seamless continuation from their previous work, addressing the daily spectrum of emotions, both positive and negative, that characterize existence itself. Comprising eight tracks, the album showcases a discernible evolution in their sound. The objective was to capture a more raw, live ambiance, a goal successfully realized at Acheron Studio. The mixing was expertly handled by Celestial Event Studio in Antwerp, while mastering was entrusted to Chris Fielding (Conan). The album’s artwork is credited to Ana Luna.

The year is 2013. Two members played in a black metal band before and wanted to explore the more slow, heavy, in your face music. They were joined by two friends who also played in various projects before. When the first notes were formed, a name had to be found. An article caught their eye about rats that attacked people by jumping to their throat. Alas Throatsnapper was formed.
