Berlin heavy alternative rock band Zeit Driver release their new single »Self-Made« on 11 September 2026 via Tonzonen Records. It is the second single from the band’s forthcoming debut album, [CTRL+Z], Zeit Driver, which follows in December 2026.

Built around massive hooks and a direct, anthemic chorus, »Self-Made« takes sharp aim at the easily digestible pills of misinformation we swallow every day.

Offering a cynical look at modern culture, the song questions the true cost of our obsession with online individualism and the identities we construct around it. During its outro, the track completely implodes, leaving the listener hanging on a final suspended note – and wondering whether the resulting identity crisis was ever worth it.

Zeit Driver are Berlin’s heavy alternative rock voice for a generation permanently wired in. The international four-piece deliver a raw, riff-driven sound that channels the intensity of Alice In Chains through the groove of Queens Of The Stone Age. Their music confronts the pervasive control of the digital world, urging listeners to unplug and reconnect.

The foundations of Zeit Driver were laid during the cold winter of 2020, when guitarist Jerry and bassist Martin met in a messy rehearsal room in East Berlin and immediately connected through their shared love of heavy music. Drummer Levin soon joined, and the trio spent the following year searching for the final member of the band.

In early 2022, vocalist Jelle completed the international line-up. Zeit Driver were officially formed with a clear mission: to challenge digital fatigue with loud, analogue rock music.

After a year devoted to intensive rehearsals and electric local shows, the band announced their arrival in December 2022 with debut single »Warm Heart«. Their first EP, »Minds Unloaded«, followed in 2023, helping them establish a growing presence within Berlin’s heavy music scene.

In 2024, Zeit Driver demonstrated their willingness to evolve with the release of five diverse singles, expanding the scope of their sound. The following year was dedicated to regional touring across Germany, with the band bringing their live set to festivals in Munich, Heilbronn, Cottbus and beyond.

The 2025 touring season culminated in an intensive two-week recording session in Kaulsdorf, where Zeit Driver recorded their debut album.

Set for release in December 2026 via Tonzonen Records, [CTRL+Z], Zeit Driver is the definitive statement of the band’s mission: a sonic purge created to silence the digital noise.
