Berlin’s experimental trio ZAHN have released their highly anticipated third album »Purpur« today and it’s now streaming everywhere. With this bold new chapter, the band sharpen their signature sound into something even more immersive, heavy and hallucinatory.

Stream »Purpur« on Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, Deezer & more HERE.

On »Purpur«, ZAHN deliver their most electrifying work yet – a lush fusion of heaviness, electronics, and hallucinatory color. Monolithic grooves collide with synthetic shimmer, creating a sound that is both massive and hypnotically detailed.

The trio – Chris Breuer, Nic Stockmann, and Felix Gebhard – deepen their sonic exploration with a record that is simultaneously more electronic and more rock-infused than their acclaimed predecessors. »Purpur« breathes tension and danger, pulsing with depth and density while echoing the relentless march of a world on the edge.

Inspired by the album’s vivid cover – a burst of grapes and berries – the record mirrors its own lush, colorful sound palette. Heavy foundations meet rich electronic textures, blending potent genres into something fresh, complex, and irresistibly immersive.

Recorded once again in Gyhum with recording engineer Peter Voigtmann (ex–The Ocean, Death By Gong, Heads.), »Purpur« follows in the footsteps of the band’s previous work but also marks a bold leap forward. Guest appearances by Fabian Bremer (Radare, AUA) and Kjetil Nernes (Årabrot) deepen the record’s sense of unease and allure, while Magnus Lindberg‘s (Cult of Luna) mix and master give it the depth of a subterranean pulse – crisp, heavy and alive with microscopic detail.

ZAHN »Purpur« release shows in Hamburg & Berlin:
Feb 20, 2026 – Hamburg (DE), Betty w/ GRIN
Feb 21, 2026 – Berlin (DE), Neue Zukunft w/ NOJ
