Berlin, Germany based stoner/doom/heavy psych duo Vold is back with their new two-track EP, »Duck And Cover«, which was just released on December 13th, 2025.

From a backyard shack in East Berlin, sounds whistle through the wooden walls. Inside, the acoustic pressure is intense – almost too intense, one might think. How many people could possibly squeeze into that little space to create such a wall of sound? Vold are two, who have been exploring their sonic experiments since 2019. With guitar, drums, and a few clever tricks, they navigate the tension between blues, psychedelic rock, and doom. Their sound feels big but never overloaded – handcrafted music without gimmicks, breathing and focused on the essentials.

With »Duck And Cover«, their second release after their debut album, Vold move away from traditional song structures toward jam-driven compositions. Bluesy waves crash with a psychedelic spray onto heavy, fuzzy riffs, creating an acoustic natural spectacle like sound experience.

The journey of these recordings began before the record button was pressed. They are the first results from transforming their rehearsal room into a custom recording studio, which ultimately changed how the music comes to life: every solo, idea, and jam session can now be recorded at any time. Later, as in this case, certain passages from those jams can be rearranged into new, multifaceted pieces free from any preset formula. With the pressure of studio bookings gone and full autonomy gained, both the composition process and the music itself are liberated.

Fans of soundscapes and vivid sonic imagery will find just as much to love here as our fellow amplifier worshippers.
