Paraná, Brazil based death/doom metal band Dying Embers has posthumously released their debut album »Dark Shadow From The Past« on December 13th, 2025.

“After the anxiety/euphoria of more than 20 years of waiting for the official release of the long-awaited debut album.
Every band that aims to make original music has the biggest goal of releasing that long-awaited CD, and today, with modernity, the release is done via streaming, but the satisfaction is still the same.
This material was originally recorded in 2004, but due to problems with the studio computer’s hard drive, all the recordings we had made were lost. After the waiting period to try to recover the files (this was already in 2005), we rescheduled and there we went on the saga of re-recording track by track, all over again. After this period comes the worst part, the financial one, to pay for the mixing, mastering, etc. With the high cost and other priorities in the members’ personal lives, this long-awaited project was shelved and shortly afterwards, the band went on hiatus until the official end of activities.
During the pandemic and the lack of life prospects, given the increasing number of deaths day by day, we started conversations about releasing this material and began negotiations, financial viability to cover the costs, and in 2023 we began this step-by-step process of recovering the recording.
This is just an account of what happened during that period and in the present day, and we are left with the memories of the shows, the bands we shared the stage with, the friends, the rehearsals, and a dream that finally came true.” ~ Dying Embers
