Conceived between the interaction of heavy psych, blues, stoner/doom, heavy rock elements, Mábura is a Brazillian instrumental power trio who exposes from ritualistic and psychedelic imersive atmospheres, to loud purged riffs loaded with fuzz and intensity.
“»Passos No Teto« is a musical outpouring, a real emotional rollercoaster. Around mid-2023, Livio Medeiros (Lagarto Rei, Gardre) joined the project, bringing in a fresh perspective and diverse approaches to crafting a brand-new album from scratch. Our recording process kicked off right after his arrival. We embarked on an immersive journey before hitting the studio to kickstart our debut record. It was a moment of deep introspection—we left behind old themes to embrace a completely new artistic concept, something we’ve never delved into before. A new cycle began.
Amidst various international influences, despite the unique nature of »Passos No Teto« the long-standing presence of Lagarto Rei influences in our history is unmistakable. There are direct and indirect influences from the band’s flagship album, »Mundo Flutuante«. The sonic and visual identity from the Distante do Sol Lab (DDS Lab) label is profoundly evident here, echoing the psychedelic doom jazz vibes of Gardre, utilizing samples from the band itself, and Livio Medeiros’s exclusively analog photo project, Bazzfilm. We’re diving deep into the shadows of the world through black-and-white photos.
