Curupira is a stoner rock and stoner doom band from Florianopolis, which has been active in local underground events since its formation in 2019. The band’s musical project unites the two pillars of the stoner genre, the desert side (Kyuss, Truckfighters) and the doom side (Black Sabbath, Sleep, Electric Wizard), while experimenting with progressive arrangements.

The band’s first album was recorded in 2022 at Aerotullio Sound Distillery and went through the editing, mixing and mastering process in the hands of Francisco Patetucho, music producer and guitarist for Mabura. The eponymous album »Curupira« is an odyssey that lasts a little over an hour, divided into 7 long tracks, which explore the most diverse possibilities within the stoner genre: heavy and hypnotically repetitive riffs, long solo sections, precisely fitted grooves, fast and aggressive passages that border on punk, vocals that transit between angelic harmonies and demonic gutturals.

The formation that gave life to the work includes Bruno Rockenbach on vocals, Pedro Bermond Valls on guitar, Pedro Guerra de Sá on bass and Diego Rapoport on drums.
