His shadowy figure is laden with symbolism, representing not only the passage between life and death, but also the forgotten secrets that lie in the depths of our own existence. Prepare to be led through the currents of oblivion, pain, and hatred as we seek passage to the beyond.

The Boatman of the underworld.

Charon, son of darkness and night, is the boatman who takes souls across the River Styx, also known as the River of Pain, to Hades to be judged.

The deceased were buried with gold coins in their mouths so that they could pay for the crossing. Otherwise, their souls would wander for 100 years on the banks of the river until Charon granted the journey for free.

Charon, which means ‘intense brightness’, is the threshold between the world of the living and the dead.

It is the path to eternal rest or endless torture.

The souls that become wanderers for lack of gold are not limited to the underworld, here on the surface you see them every day, lost and hopeless, waiting for one last act of mercy to guide them somewhere, even if they don’t know their final destination.

Presidente Judas is a stoner doom band formed in 2019 in the city of Cerquilho, São Paulo. Mainly influenced by Black Sabbath but also moves through other genres such as punk and heavy metal.
