With »Inertia«, Oddplay invite listeners to drift beyond the familiar and plunge into a dense cosmic soundscape. The album delivers massive riffs, hypnotic rhythms, and kaleidoscopic textures that evoke both weightlessness and gravity – a sonic paradox at the heart of the band’s creative vision.
“This record is about the beautiful stillness you find in motion – the slow burn, the pull of gravity, the resistance you embrace as you move forward,” the band shares. “We wanted »Inertia« to feel like a journey through starlit deserts and electric storms.”

Marking a new chapter for Oddplay, »Inertia« refines their signature blend of stoner heaviness and psychedelic atmosphere while pushing songwriting and sound design into more expansive territory. Each track represents a different moment in that journey – sometimes explosive, sometimes restrained, always immersive.

The album opens with »Inertia«, a slow-building statement of intent where thick riffs and floating melodies establish the record’s meditative yet heavy core. »L.U.C.A.« follows with a tighter, more rhythmic pulse, balancing groove and tension. »Kill Your Limits« raises the intensity, channeling forward momentum and inner conflict through driving riffs and restless energy.

On »Coercion«, hypnotic repetition and darker textures pull the listener into a trance-like state, while »Circus« twists and turns with playful unpredictability beneath its heavy exterior. »Leisure« offers a deceptive calm – relaxed on the surface, but layered with subtle unease and atmosphere.

The second half of the album digs deeper. »Deceit« explores shadowy grooves and unsettling shifts, leading into »Equanimity«, a moment of balance and restraint that breathes amid the weight. »Reluctant« captures resistance and hesitation through dragging riffs and persistent rhythms, before »Labor Express« drives forward with a mechanical, relentless pulse.

Closing moments bring contrast and scale. »Star Of David« is concise and focused, almost ritualistic in feel, setting the stage for the expansive finale »Starcraft«, a long-form journey that fully embraces Oddplay’s psychedelic side – drifting, heavy, and cosmic, bringing »Inertia« to a vast and resonant conclusion.
