Tickle The Sage is a psychedelic rock band from Sofia, Bulgaria. Formed in 2022 by Alex Nikolov and Ivan Petkov, the current lineup includes Alex (guitar, vocals), Ivan (guitar, vocals), Sivin Sivov (drums), and Simeon Bayatov (bass). Their music draws from stoner and desert rock, funk, surf, ethno, and heavy psychedelia, with a focus on groove and atmosphere.

In 2025 the band released their debut album »Journey«, a seven-track record conceived as a continuous listening experience. Live shows play a big role in the band’s work. Sets usually begin with a short sage ritual and slowly open up into something more fluid, with visuals and extended sections that let the music breathe. Tickle The Sage are currently working on new material and preparing the next releases.

»Journey« is Tickle The Sage’s debut studio album and the first complete chapter of the band.

The album unfolds as a continuous arc rather than a collection of separate songs. Each track has its own character, but together they form a larger movement – drifting through grooves, melodies, repeating patterns, and gradual climaxes. The music shifts between grounded, groove-driven moments and more expansive psychedelic passages, allowing space for change rather than staying in one mood.

The idea behind »Journey« is simple: an abstract path that listeners can experience in their own way. Some hear stories, others feel textures or states of mind.

Everything around »Journey« is self-produced – from recording and production to artwork, visualizers, and videos. For Tickle The Sage, the album is not just sound, but a space they continue to shape through music, visuals, and live performances.
