Californian epic doom metal band Mourning Star (feat. members of Squelch) released their first self-titled demo

Corona, California based epic doom metal band Mourning Star (feat. members of Squelch) presents their first self-titled demo, which was just released on March 8th, 2025.

Mourning Star comments: “Our demo is now available on Spotify and all streaming platforms. 3 hymns of sorrow, spiritual warfare and the will to endure the mystery of being human. We welcome you all to mourn in the light. Though your fate falls to doom, when the star falls upon you.”

Conceptualized while seeing the return of Candlemass live in 2023. The mastery of their doom, is the foundation on which Mourning Star was created. While the other walls are hoisted up by the gut-wrenching sorrowful sounds of Crowbar and Warning. The thundering war hymns of Bolt Thrower; and an admiration for death/funeral doom in the likes of Mournful Congregation and Winter. With soaring vocals and stampeding grooves; Mourning Star brings forth their blend of hymnal, sorrowful, and war ready doom.
