Formed in late 2023 (formally known as Ruiness), Ominess is a gothic bruja doom metal band emerging from the depths of the underground scene based out of Ohlone & Pomo land, also known as Oakland & Santa Rosa, CA. Ominess’ lyrics are threaded with themes of decolonization, feminist rage, queer and fat liberation – with Mexican Catholic undertones inspired by the singer’s upbringing; more, the struggles endured by organized religion and machismo. Latina feminine rage is poured through agonizing banshee wails and darkened sultress vocals. With sludgey, somber, gazey guitars, and a gargantuan rhythm section – the sounds of ominess magick will lure any creature out of the shadows.

Ominess holds inspirations from Hell, King Woman, Thou, Chrch, and more.

Ominess partnered with Transylvanian Recordings label in June 2025 and released their debut self-titled EP on January 31, 2026.
