“The origins of Idol Lord began on the south bay beaches just south of Los Angeles, where the sounds of Black Flag, The Circle Jerks and RKL were as common as Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, and Black Oak Arkansas. Forged by surf, skate, punk, metal and classic rock, the members slowly started moving northward into the less densely populated area of the high desert of northern Los Angeles county.”

Hailing from the windswept high deserts of Quartz Hill, California, Idol Lord is a band that thrives on defying easy categorization. Their sound is a raw, unfiltered amalgamation of classic rock’s swagger, punk rock’s unrelenting grit, and the crushing weight of stoner metal’s heavy fuzz. Born from a unique convergence of cultural forces, the band’s roots stretch back to the sun-soaked beaches south of Los Angeles, where the chaotic energy of Black Flag and The Circle Jerks collided headlong with the timeless riffs of Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy. Surf, skate, punk, metal, and classic rock shaped their DNA long before the desert winds called them northward.

In the quiet isolation of the high desert, Idol Lord honed their craft, channeling the stark, expansive beauty of their environment into a sound that’s as gritty as it is transcendent.

Their debut album, »The Other Side«, is the perfect encapsulation of this ethos. Slated for release through the esteemed Glory or Death Records, the record was meticulously crafted in May 2024 at Pale Moon Ranch Studios in Juniper Hills, California, with Alex Estrada at the helm. The result? A 12-inch slab of pure, fuzz-drenched power, heavy enough to crack the desert floor yet layered with nuances that invite repeated listening.
