Montreal, Canada based cinematic/sci-fi rock group Sons Of Arrakis has unveiled a live session video for the track »Temple Of The Desert« from their debut album, »Volume I«, out on July 15th, 2022.
The band comments: “This live session music video has been recorded and shot at “le centre communautaire” du Bic in Bas-St-Laurent region (Québec) on December 9th, 2022. The video features our song »Temple Of The Desert« that appear SOA’s debut album, »Volume I«, released on July 15, 2022.
The video has been produced and realized by Alexandre Dugal, mostly known for his implication in Alex’s Room. The recording and mix is a DIY process by Francis Duchesne and Frédéric Couture. This live session is part as an effort to grow as a band and to promote our new tour starting on June 2nd in Québec. Stay tuned for more info!”
The concept of Sons Of Arrakis revolves around the Dune novels and the known universe imagined by Frank Herbert. We wanted to be a heavy rock band with guitar fuzz and thick drums, but we wanted to recreate a sci-fi atmosphere/vibe in this »Volume I«. Some people qualify our music as melange rock or dune metal, but we tend to say that it’s cinematic sci-fi rock. All the songs of the album are on the same tonality, C# minor, and it’s possible to intertwine songs and make intelligible transitions between the songs. We wanted »Volume I« to be a balance between a concept album and solid single songs.
