Canadian doom/gothic metal group Lodestar signs with Sliptrick Records to release fourth studio album »Darkstar« in 2025!

Vancouver, Canada based doom/gothic metal group Lodestar has recently signed with Sliptrick Records for the release of their fourth studio album, »Darkstar«, which will see the light in 2025. Watch an official teaser video below!

Multi-instrumentalist Jensen Rodolfo comments: “We have officially signed with Sliptrick Records thanks to everyone who supports us and to the people who helped us to get to this point. Lodestar are a 2-piece Canadian doom/gothic metal studio band which formed in 2020 from a collection of passionate people who met during the pandemic. Kate Glock takes lead vocals and synth. While Jensen Rodolfo takes on the role as the guitar player, while also doing the bass and drums. Together they create a style of music which is slow, heavy, and yet melodic. Combining from genres such as doom metal, gothic metal, and of hard rock, to bring something that is moody, atmospheric and emotional.

A lodestar is a person or thing that serves as guide or source of inspiration. It can also be a star which guides the course of a ship, to show the way for weary travelers to find their way home. This name was chosen due to the meaning behind the word. The band wants to convey meaning in their music, which they hope can serve as a source of strength for others.

With a growing fanbase they have reached 37,000 YouTube views on their 2nd studio album »Event Horizon«. With more success coming with every album release, the band strives to push forward and add something new to their sound with every new album.
