Canadian dreamy alternative/shoegaze/grunge group Deer Fang share new single and music video »Low Tide«
Ontario, Canada based dreamy alternative/shoegaze/grunge group Deer Fang share new single and music video »Low Tide«.
The band comments: “A modern version of all that is nostalgic and familiar. Swirling elements of grunge, shoegaze and alternative.
Our new single »Low Tide« drops along with a music video that we are beyond stoked to share. It was directed, filmed and edited by the incredibly talented Mercedes Arn-Horn. The photos in this post are thanks to her as well.
This song is close to our hearts as it touches on depression and the quiet battles beneath the surface.
On World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that it’s okay to have lows and reach out for help. Let’s keep raising awareness, supporting one another, and finding light even in the darkest moments.”

About Deer Fang:
“Who is Deer Fang? We (Jason Michael and Lauren Roxann) started this project after spending time in different projects of various genres (yes Years Of The Modern is still going strong), and wanted a return to the sounds of distorted guitars and driving drums. Drawing on influences from the eras of music we grew up on and combining elements of grunge, alternative, shoegaze, pop punk and emo, we tried to construct something that brings a sense of nostalgia while still remaining current. Apparently grungegaze is a sub-genre? Who knew.
We decided early on that we were going to tackle some pretty heavy topics, and in the songs to come (9 will be released this year!) we are going to touch on female empowerment, insecurities, depression and loss, among others. We write what we relate to. We stand behind our views, are promoting awareness and sensitivity and are inclusive of everyone.
After writing and recording a plethora of tunes, we enlisted our good friends and extreme talents Eric Rudling and Cody Linthicum to help fill out our live show lineup. We’re extremely stoked and fortunate to have them on board. More shows are being announced soon and we have a lot planned for the year.
TLDR; If you like bands like Superheaven, Basement, Teenage Wrist, Softcult, Superbloom, Soul Blind, Nothing, Leaving Time, etc. then you might enjoy us.”
