Sunless is a doom metal project based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Sunless is the brainchild of Rudy M, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and precambrian master of ceremonies of the underground metal scene.

“In this first output – which we have titled »MMXXIII« – we have poured all our hearts, unfiltered; meaning that we have endeavored to create music that is raw and fragile – somehow lacking in modern sensibilities, but also devoid of all the trappings of that digital magic that is oftentimes overemployed in the studio, in order to produce music that is perceived as perfect, but that is also de-humanized in the process.

Indeed, this is our statement of intent: music that does not reflect the flaws and imperfections of its authors, that doesn’t pause for breath, music that is not cracking and bursting at the seams, lacks in humanity and is rarely suitable to convey emotion that is truly pure and sincere. In these five tracks we hope you will be able to find something unusual and surprising; If this music can somehow stir something inside you, we will consider that our greatest and most rewarding achievement as musicians.”
