»Baby Don’t Let Me Down«, explain The Slow And Easy, “is about going back to a lover who’s no good in your dark times, while »Alhambra« is about a visceral motorcycle experience.” The opener is a catchy song with wide-spread appeal that finds the band leaning out of the gate with heavy fuzz riffs, explosive vocals and blistering guitar leads, while »Alhambra« carries the high energy forward with a high octane boogie rhythm, cramming blues and southern rock through the band’s own distinct filter. »Middle«, says The Slow And Easy “represents a poetic escapism intermingled with feelings of anticipation”. Leaning into the softer side of the band’s sound, this memorable track combines an infectious swinging groove with airy guitars and alluring vocals creating an ethereal landscape that keeps the listener entranced. »Down The Line« says The Slow And Easy, “is about romanticizing running away with your lover on a train through nowhere land, whereas »Safer Place« relates to an older woman seducing a younger man.” The former opens with an evocative guitar line accompanied by a swooning vocal that eases the listener into a melancholic sway before unleashing into a frenetic instrumental outburst. An immersive experience is felt in the EP’s final track »Safer Place« beginning with multi-textural feedback before exploding into a rhythmic fuzz freakout supported by a driving chorus, howling vocals and an unhinged guitar solo. After a moment’s breath, The Slow And Easy remind the listener just how easy going they can be, dynamically fading into a melodic acoustic shuffle atop hallucinatory sounds of a calm shoreline.
