Catalan extreme metal legends Vidres a la sang announce their new album »Virtut del desencís«; first single »Màrtirs« streaming now!

Terrassa, Spain based black/death/sludge metal band Vidres a la sang (feat. members of Black Lotus, Foscor, White Stones & more) premiere the first single »Màrtirs« taken from their new album, »Virtut del desencís«, which will be released on November 29th, 2024 in collaboration with the labels Abstract Emotions Records, Nafra Records, Negra Nit Distro, Eternal Juggernaut Records and Discos Macarras Records.

The band comments: “»Màrtirs« is a profound, heartfelt homage to the peoples oppressed by war, Western exploitation, and the universal human barbarism.”

Vidres a la sang, the Catalan extreme metal legend, finally presents »Virtut del desencís«, the sixth album of their fantastic discography. Once again recorded, mixed and mastered by Eloi Boucherie at his Farm of Sounds studio, the album also features a cover and artwork by Alejandro Tedín from Heresie Studio. It also features an exceptional collaboration on vocals with Arnau Tordera (Obeses) on the song »Sempre És Incert«, the »Virtut del desencís«’ only track with lyrics from a Miquel Martí i Pol poem.

“The virtut del desencís (virtue of disenchantment) is that state of the soul where the last moments of lucidity dwell just before surrendering to the total absence of any hope. To grasp and gather the last moments of light. Clinging, resisting, loving, believing, trusting, living, contemplating and observing to understand that there is we have not managed to learn anything. That there is nothing that we have been able to understand. Let there be virtue in this disenchantment. Let there be a will.”

Based on this reflection, the institution from Terrassa returns to the scene with six new hymns of veritable negre metall mort in its maximum expression and splendour, and the band itself states with resounding certainty that “this album gathers the legacy on which Vidres a la sang has been building up over more than 20 years of career, and without a doubt it is the most mature, dynamic, creative, and powerful work of all those we have created up to the present”.

Thus, »Virtut del desencís« is an opus that will surely make the most sensitive souls of extreme music tremble, and that aims to delve, once again from their unmistakable lyrical style, into the shadows that determine us as a species from a philosophical, existential, political, and social point of view.
