Cosmic psychedelic doom metal band Astral Moon announce new album »Into Solar Abyss« and share the first single »Nuclear Sarcophagus«!

Rochester, New York based one-man cosmic psychedelic doom metal band Astral Moon has recently announced his second album, »Into Solar Abyss«, which will be released on January 25th, 2023.

The band’s mastermind Aidan Amy (Ram’s Head, ex-Sister Constriction) comments: “Astral Moon’s second album, »Into Solar Abyss«, will be released on January 25, 2023! I’ve been working hard on this since late ‘21, and I’m finally ready to unveil it. Featuring some killer cover art by (((Doomolith))). Some of the songs on here have been my absolute favorites to work on, and I’m very excited to hear what you guys think. Will be released digitally on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, and many other streaming services. Will be released on CD (along with my first album, hopefully) as well – though probably not the same day as the digital releases. Stay tuned for updates!”

Astral Moon is a one-man doom metal band formed in Rochester, NY in 2020. Fronted by Aidan Amy, he has since released one full-length album in 2021, »Astral Necromancy«, and has announced his second full-length, »Into Solar Abyss«, set to release January 25, 2023. Amy draws influence from bands like Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath, Sleep, Type O Negative, Woods Of Ypres, and The Doors to create a psychedelic, fuzzy atmosphere – with a pinch of gothic doom. As an experienced saxophonist, he began incorporating sax solos into his songs with »Beneath The Coffin Grain«, adding a unique sound to doom. Prior to Astral Moon, Amy had a history of experimental electronic projects between 2017 – 2020. Some of these include the 90’s rave-inspired Think and the gritty, industrial soundscape Morte Pandemic. He began making metal under the moniker of Sister Constriction in mid 2020, producing a demo EP with an industrial thrash sound. He later abandoned the project and began putting his passion for doom metal into motion with the creation of Astral Moon by the end of the year.
