Adiós Cometa explore two worlds in »Una vida en otra parte«, their new video!
Three weeks after the release of »Un destello de luz«, Costa Rican five-piece Adiós Cometa expand the album’s universe with the premiere of the music video for its focus track, »Una vida en otra parte«, one of the record’s most direct and emotionally charged songs.
Directed by Joshua Silva and Sergio Saravia, the video explores duality, nostalgia, and contemporary surveillance through multiple recording formats – webcams, security cameras, and mobile phones – building a narrative about memory and the lives we didn’t live in an era dominated by screens and digital archives. Actress Karina Picado portrays a woman shaped by past decisions and imagined futures, mirroring the emotional tension that drives the song.

Since the first single »Candelaria« came out »Un destello de luz« has made a strong international impact. The album was featured in a full program on KEXP and highlighted by Bandcamp Daily, which included it in its Essential Releases and The Best Latin Music on Bandcamp lists. It has also received coverage from outlets such as Rolling Stone, IndieRocks!, Remezcla, Idioteq, Rockzone, Ruta 66 and Radio 3, consolidating the band’s growing global profile.
At the same time, tracks from the album have been added to official Apple Music and Spotify playlists, further expanding its reach across digital platforms.
Released by Spinda Records (Spain) in collaboration with Steadfast Records (USA) and Furia (Costa Rica), »Un destello de luz« is available in digital, vinyl, compact disc and cassette formats. The black vinyl edition is currently sold out, while the remaining physical formats are still available at spindarecords.com while supplies last.
On »Un destello de luz«, Adiós Cometa delve deeper into a sound where shoegaze, emo, and post-rock coexist with a raw and immediate sensibility. The album confronts themes such as memory, loss, fatherhood, and legacy with honesty and emotional clarity. Collaborations with Lucía Masnatta (Fin del Mundo), María Paula Vásquez (Encarta 98), Amanda Murillo (A su ladera) and Joaquin Vanrafelghem (montegrande) broaden the record’s sonic palette and reinforce the collective spirit of a work that confirms Adiós Cometa as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Latin American alternative rock.
