Says the band: “The original »Goodnight, Europe« was the first CBP song Justin wrote, back in 2004, it was the first demo released into the world, posted on MySpace as a small first step into a new journey. Given its title after watching Eurovision with good friend and band mate Dominic Aitchison, while making super sketchy demos at home. It stayed in the live set for many years, and gained CBP a reputation of sound a tiny wee bit like Pink Floyd (may or may not be true). Eventually it was recorded and released on »A Love Of Shared Disaster« in 2007. And although there’s still the respect for the original version, it was felt that it needed to be re-imagined in the studio because of what the song became over time and what it has now come to represent. Belinda Kordic made the new words connect to the song in a way that makes total sense, whilst the music takes a darker, gloomier turn to reflect the changing times.”

More information about

When the world drowns its sorrows in silence, Crippled Black Phoenix screams into the abyss, and with their latest single, »Goodnight, Europe (Pt2)«, they invite you on their latest journey.

»Goodnight, Europe (Pt2)« roars as the lead single from »The Wolf Changes Its Fur But Not Its Nature«. This powerful anthem echoes from the band’s journey, originating as the first sonic footprint Justin Greaves carved into the world back in 2004. With Belinda Kordic’s evocative words threading through the shadows, the track revisits and reinvents its predecessor, now marinated in years of reflection and the evolving turmoil of an embattled continent. The new rendition swells with an almost cinematic gravity, its darker tones mirroring the fractured European landscape and the haunting nostalgia for what once was. Crippled Black Phoenix drags the collective conscience into the light, compelling us to confront uncomfortable realities and long-buried truths.
