About the album:
»All Damned Switches« is the debut album by Take The Tides, an instrumental trio from Varaždin, Croatia. It represents a cross-section of four years of the band’s development, improvisation, and collective exploration of sound.
Blending elements of psychedelic rock, post-rock, desert rock, and krautrock, the album builds its sound around a solid groove, hypnotic rhythms, expansive guitars drenched in delay and reverb, and occasional Middle Eastern melodic motifs.
Most of the tracks originated through improvisations during rehearsals and live jam sessions. For the album, this material was arranged into cohesive pieces, preserving the spontaneity and dynamics of playing together while developing distinctive riffs, melodies, and structures. The result is captures the energy of the band’s live performances in a studio recording.

The diversity of the tracks reflects the changes the band has undergone from its beginnings to the present day. »All Damned Switches« is both a document of that evolution and an invitation for new listeners to discover Take The Tides’ sound, while offering those already familiar with the band the opportunity to hear their music in a studio setting.
The album’s title originated from an inside joke about the multitude of switches on one of the guitars and the effects the guitarist and bassist use to shape their sound – sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. It is also a playful reference to the band All Them Witches.
»Switch Ezzorah« is the lead single from the album, accompanied by a psychedelic music video directed by Jakov Šafran. It is one of the few tracks on the album whose initial riff took shape outside of rehearsals, at the guitarist’s home. The title continues the playful switch-themed concept that runs throughout the album.
About the band:
Formed in 2022, the band consists of Dominik Kavur on bass, Nikola Kekez on drums, and Hrvoje Kreč on guitar. Their sound blends elements of psychedelic rock, post-rock, and stoner rock, creating atmospheric instrumental compositions that unfold through improvisation, experimentation, and dynamic shifts.
Hypnotic melodies, powerful riffs, and ambient textures define their musical expression, moving between quieter, meditative passages and intense, high-energy riffs.
