Aarhus, Denmark based sludge/noise rock veterans Double Space will release their debut album »Not In A Million Years« on October 16th, 2026 through Virkelighedsfjern.

Finally, it has arrived: the debut album of Double Space, set for a release on October 16th on vinyl and digital through Virkelighedsfjern. For over two decades, they have stood as stalwarts of the Danish heavy underground. The title itself – »Not In A Million Years« – serves as a sardonic testament to their fierce persistence against the currents of adversity and scene trends. While the world spins faster and more erratically, Double Space has held their ground sharpening the blade and forging a singular blend of sludge, doom, and noise rock.
Today, Double Space share the album sole single »Dune«, on which the band states:
“The lyrics are inspired by the struggle with a depressed mind, and the ambivalence that arises when you finally step out into the world on the other side. At last, you’ve dug yourself out of your darkness. You feel disgusted by the unease that comes with encountering other people. Now you waver between the realization that the world still means you no good, and the possibility that you have been living under a black cloud that has kept you mentally locked in place.”

The band’s label Virkelighedsfjern has made album pre-orders available, with the vinyl edition limited to 300 black copies as well as digital formats, both available HERE.
Double Space will play a couple of shows in the coming months, first at Toldermania in Aalborg on Sept 26th, then at the Sonic Ritual festival in Copenhagen on October 9th, followed by a show in the band’s hometown Aarhus.. More shows will be announced soon.

Double Space’s music is heaviness and intimacy intertwined, where every track becomes a cathartic outpouring, a battle waged against demons within. What is being shared isn’t just a take on feelings but a piece of a person. Milliseconds of an emotional meltdown served on a platter of crushing riffs, desperate leads, and jaw-breaking drumming – a sonic assault delivered with unwavering urgency that plows right through the same old.
It’s easy to tell this is one of those nerd bands who only agree on the debut, the B-side of the third album, or the demo of some band or another. Instead of arguing about the things that fall outside the Venn diagram, or making an awkward concoction of it all, they simply choose to throw the handpicked selection into a huge bowl, slap it around hard, and serve up their own unique vision. And they even straight up dare you to pick out the references!
With his lauded career at the helm of Dead Rat Studio, Jacob Bredahl (Lifesick, Konvent, LLNN) was chosen to mix the album not by chance, but by craft. He undertook the delicate task of translating splinters of anguished reality into sound. The brief demanded tension: rough honesty – no smoothing into something too polished, too polite. An eight ball of deep scars thrown right at your face. The goal wasn’t perfection; it was truth. A document that feels like witnessing, not merely listening.
