Dead Kosmonaut are one of the most vital heavy metal acts to emerge from Sweden in recent years. Formed by bassist and songwriter Mattias Reinholdsson, the band has grown from a solo project into a powerful unit featuring some of Sweden’s most accomplished musicians: Pelle Gustafsson (Hellbutcher, ex-Nifelheim), Fredrik Folkare (Unleashed, Firespawn), Peter Hallgren (Sorcerer), and drummer Henrik Johansson.

Their critically acclaimed releases »Expect Nothing« (2017), »Rekviem« (2019), and »Gravitas« (2020) firmly established Dead Kosmonaut as masters of a rare balance – authentic heavy metal rooted in the tradition of Sabbath, Priest, and Maiden, combined with progressive structures, dynamic songwriting, and a dark, organic sound far removed from modern plastic polish. Critics consistently highlight the band’s exceptional musicianship, memorable riffs, and epic sense of scale.

Now comes »Retrospectre« – their most ambitious work to date. A thematic album exploring memory, reflection, and hindsight, it unites weight, atmosphere, and virtuosity in equal measure.
