San Francisco, California based post-black metal outfit Deafheaven has unveiled new music video for »Sorry Laid The Hearth« taken from their latest EP, »At Work In The Fields Of The Bomb«, out on October 8th, 2026 via Roadrunner Records.
Tracklist:
01. Hunter
02. Three Princes
03. Sorry Laid The Hearth
Deafheaven has surprise-released a new three-track EP titled »At Work In The Fields Of The Bomb«. Arriving via Roadrunner Records, the unexpected release marks the band’s heaviest material to date, leaning heavily back into traditional black metal influences.
Recorded with producer, Arthur Rizk, this three song EP borrows its title and central concept from Robert Del Tredici’s photo book documenting the ordinary places and people involved in the production of nuclear weapons.

The EP explores the unsettling contrast between the unimaginable consequences of the bomb and the mundane actions that make such destruction possible, focusing on the choices and systems that lead us toward irreversible moments. It considers how catastrophe can emerge from seemingly ordinary details—and how, once extinction becomes possible, there is ultimately no one left to witness it.
The release is accompanied by a cinematic short film for the track »Hunter«. Directed by Nico Poalillo alongside George Clarke, the film features production from Pulse Films and stunning camera work by Academy Award-winning cinematographer Janusz Kamiński (Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan).
