As announced a couple of days ago: about 2 years after the end of the band, French post-metallers Dirge just released a final record with a limited deluxe 3xCD edition & digital compilation album called »Vanishing Point« through their own imprint Blight Records and the Swiss cult label Division Records (Impure Wilhelmina, Kehlvin, Rorcal, Unfold…)
In addition to the official release, »Vanishing Point« is available right now for full-streaming on Bandcamp.

Dirge abruptly announced the end of their 25-year career at the peak of their creativity, right after the release of their critically acclaimed »Lost Empyrean« by Debemur Morti / Blight Records.
However, they reserved one last surprise for their long-time fans and will release this final compilation album, which features a collection of unreleased tracks and other rarities that goes from their early industrial beginnings to the post-metal grandeur of their last album.
Set for release as a triple CD on March 26th by Division Records and the band’s own label Blight Records, »Vanishing Point« was mixed and mastered by Raphaël Bovey (Gojira, Nostromo, Impure Wilhelmina).

Two years after ending a career rich of seven albums, one EP and a handful of demotapes, Dirge finally unfolds its final testimony, christened »Vanishing Point«. A retrospective collection of unreleased and rarities that traces the sonic evolution of the band, from the original mid 90s industrial rusts to the granitic post-metal of its epilogue »Lost Empyrean« in 2018, through the progressive monoliths of the 2000s.
The chronological order helps recontextualize each song in its time, as well as putting it in the band’s own history. Thus, the 15 non-album tracks which constitute the corpus of »Vanishing Point« revisit every period, every record, every line-up through previously unpublished material (albums outtakes, special recordings, remixes) and hard-to-find pieces (demos, bonus tracks, compilation appearances). In addition to this extensive compendium (complemented with two exclusive reinterpretations by Kill The Thrill and Treha Sektori) comes »Spiraling Skywards«, a performance captured in Paris in 2005, first and sole live document in Dirge’s discography.
Presented as a triple CD digisleeve with liner notes and unreleased artworks, the compilation benefits from the mix, restoration and mastering work of Raphaël Bovey (Gojira, Nostromo, Impure Wilhelmina…). A clean and solid production which gathers more than two decades of music in a coherent and progressive whole, while keeping the specific features of Dirge’s various incarnations over the years.
