Doomed Confessionary: 19.03 (The Dead Flowers Graves)
The Dead Flowers Graves is an occult heavy/doom metal band from Italy.
The band was formed in 2017 inspired by doom metal, legends, spiritism, esoterism. Four members and four different musical experiences give a particular and personal style to the sound composition.

They have recently signed with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records to release their third EP »Elemento« in Autumn 2024.
The Dead Flowers Graves are 19.03 (vocals), 21.10 (guitars), 13.11 (bass), 06.10 (drums) and 22.12 (keyboards).
Can you say a few words about your band?
Our band is made up of five nameless members who are in constant connection between this dimension and the afterlife using music and words as a vector of communication.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
We consider musical instruments as the door that opens communication.
In this life each of us has chosen our own.
The moment we welcomed the keyboard among us something important began to move. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been constructive.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Every single song is a source of pride. If there wasn’t this ability to enjoy every single drop, the existence of a band wouldn’t make sense. You can’t always live on mirages and distant destinations. You risk losing control of where you put your feet.
What was your biggest regret?
Not having played in a cemetery yet. It is quite difficult, perhaps in a hundred years, when we will return to this dimension again.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Since playing in a cemetery is still very difficult, this life has made it possible for us to play in a deconsecrated church.
We had the honor of participating at the Church of Crow Doom Festival in Pinerolo (TO) Italy, the first edition in 2023. It was like playing out of time. Unforgettable experience.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
With no doubt Lili Refrain.
Incredible talent, creativity, multi-instrumentalist, as she herself says, she brings together theater and heavy metal, and the result is a young woman who brings with her the Italian change that we need.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
We don’t just listen to heavy music. We need to diversify. There’s so much great music out there.
The other day we traveled to strange dark worlds listening to Dool with »Here Now Then There«.
We stopped for a moment with Beastmaker with »Eyes Are Watching« and resurrected a dreamlike Linda Perhacs with »Parallelograms«.
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Use intelligence for yourself and to create. We need personal music that aligns with one’s identity, not to generate music by continually idolizing others. It’s time to break the mold.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Walking through cemeteries in meditation and talking to the Dead.
Unlike us here, they are always smiling.
Can you say something more about current music scene in province of Venice?
After years of difficulty and stagnation, finally, with pleasure, something is moving in the right direction. Commitment is rewarded. There are great satisfactions. There is still a long way to go, but as we said before, let’s enjoy every single drop instead of living on mirages.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
You will know very soon. We have the third EP for you to listen to. There will be no shortage of news.
Follow those strange computer things called Facebook and Instagram, in the right time you will discover everything.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
After a trilogy of EPs, an album will definitely arrive. We are curious to see what comes out. Compared to the EP, the album totally changes the vision both for us and for those out there.
How can people best support your band?
Imagine reading a mystery book. One of those books you could find at the back of an old library. Page after page there is a story that must be read until the end. Each chapter has a different nuance. So, pick up that book and take care of it.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Listen to our music like reading the strangest book of your life. It may not be the best one, but you will remember it.
