Cormano is a three-piece stoner ‘n’ roll band from Santiago, Chile. The trio consists of Aaron Saavedra (guitar, lead vocals), Claudio Bobadilla (bass, backing vocals) and Rodrigo Jiménez (drums, backing vocals). Their sound is a mixture of stoner, classic and hard rock, with some bluesy doom metal and psychedelic flavors.

Cormano released their debut album »Weird Tales« in 2022, an EP and numerous of singles, with »El Cuero« in January 2026 being their latest. Their song »Weird Tales« was also featured on Weedian’s compilation »Trip To Chile« in April 2025.

Can you please say a few words about your band?
Aaron: Hey, we are Cormano, a band that mixes heavy rock, stoner doom and metal. We’re at the end of the world, in Chile (South America).

Claudio: We try to make honest, original rock, mixing our different influences and personal tastes.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Claudio: Starting the band, taking it seriously, and believing in the project.

Aaron: Making music in Chile is a big challenge. Popular music here is very different from what we do, and there are very few places to play live.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Aaron: It’s really cool to see our music reaching different parts of the world – we have listeners from very distant places.

Claudio: Our first album was featured on the Doom Charts, which made us really proud at the time.

What was your biggest regret?
Claudio: Not starting earlier, when we had more time and fewer responsibilities.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Aaron: In Chile, because of the geography and the size of the scene, touring is difficult. So far, we’ve mostly played in our own city.

Rodrigo: One of our best shows was at one of the main bars in Santiago, called Mi Bar, and also at a series of independent music shows known as Ritual Eléctrico.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Claudio: Even though the scene is small, there are still people who work hard to support bands and bring international acts. We’ve been able to see bands like Red Fang, Kadavar, and Stoned Jesus.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Rodrigo: Black Sabbath, Ozzy, and Faith No More.

Claudio: Clutch and Orange Goblin.

Aaron: Killing Joke and Alice In Chains.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Aaron: The best advice came from James Cameron – yes, the filmmaker. He told aspiring filmmakers to just make a movie, no matter the size or quality, because that already makes you a filmmaker. We apply the same idea to music.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Rodrigo: We don’t really believe in guilty pleasures. We listen to many different styles, not just heavy bands. I like groups like Erasure and Morrissey.

Aaron: There’s a lot of influence from the music we listened to as kids. In Chile, like in many places, I grew up listening to funky bands (Michael Jackson, Kool & The Gang) and 80s pop.

Claudio: There are pop artists I always listen to, like Juan Gabriel or ABBA.

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Chile?
Aaron: There are few places to play, but many bands.

Claudio: It’s a small scene – most of the bands know each other.

Where can we see you live soon (concerts/tours)?
Rodrigo: Right now we’re finishing details for our next album, so we’re fully focused on the studio. Soon we’ll start booking shows.

Claudio: So if you want to invite us – we’re ready!

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Aaron: Finish the album and then go out and play it live – as many places as possible!

How can people best support your band?
Rodrigo: By downloading our music on Bandcamp. Our latest releases are name your price, and people can leave us comments there.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Claudio: Get high – but only up to the point where you can still fulfill your responsibilities.

Rodrigo: Listen to Cormano and dance.

Aaron: In a world dominated by fake news, bots, and screens, take some time to listen to these three friends making old-school rock – 100% real, no fake, honest music.
