Can you please say a few words about your band?
Vacancy Floor: Foreboding fuzzed-out guitar riffs, bass lines that’ll send a ripple across your chest and vocals that sound like a big scary dude yelling at you from the depths of his firelit cave – all moving in unsettling slow motion!
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Vacancy Floor: Drummers.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Garrett: Putting out our first album.
Ryan: Being able to play with musicians who care.
What was your biggest regret?
Vacancy Floor: We have no regrets at this point in time.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Vacancy Floor: Opening for Mizmor in July this year was amazing for us. Our drummer quit the band that morning forcing our new guitarist to get behind the kit, we played one of the best sets we have ever played with 25 mins of practice an hour before show time. He rocked it like he had been doing it for us for years. A blessing in disguise.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Vacancy Floor: Local support and how much love we are getting in and out of the Pacific Northwest.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Buddy: Yob, Knoll and Bell witch.
Ryan: Enya, Clannad, and Oldest Seas.
Garrett: John Prine, Panopticon and Sleep.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Vacancy Floor: Don’t listen to what anyone tells you, play for yourself and do what makes you happy.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Vacancy Floor: No room for feeling guilty.
Can you say something more about the current music scene in Oregon?
Vacancy Floor: the music scene in Oregon is amazing , but our little high desert town Bend, Oregon is incredible right now. A flurry of grinding musicians are putting shows together on a weekly basis. It’s amazing to watch this small scene grow into a powerful community for all genres of music.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Vacancy Floor: Check out our bandcamp page we are currently just playing in Oregon and parts of the Pacific Northwest.
Hopefully Europe in 2026.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Vacancy Floor: Playing / writing / practicing music in some form everyday.
How can people best support your band?
Vacancy Floor: Buy a T-shirt support our album on Bandcamp or just tell your friends about us.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Vacancy Floor: Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
