Ego Planet is a heavy rock band based in New Jersey, formed in 2020 from a collection of instrumental demos founder, Chris Baker, wrote in the midst of the Covid-19 quarantine.

After several months of writing, Chris partnered up with vocalist/lyricist, Jarrett Mead, to add a voice to his music. The two collaborated to finish 10 songs remotely while Jarrett was living in Seattle, WA. In January of 2021 recording began at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ with owner/engineer Kevin Antreassian. The studio band features Jarrett Mead (vocals), Chris Baker (guitars/bass) and Steve Iannettoni (drums).

Ego Planet’s self-titled debut album was released on October 27th, 2023 via Argonauta Records.

Can you say a few words about your band?
We are a heavy rock band from New Jersey.

What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
Self funding our debut record.

What can you be most proud of last year?
The release of our debut album. It’s been in the works for way too long and we are hyped to finally have it out thanks to Argonauta Records.

What was your biggest regret?
No regrets! But I wished we played some shows in 2023.

What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
No shows in 2023 unfortunately. Changing that for 2024!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The response from our album has been amazing. Personally I had no idea what to expect being a new band throwing our first record out there. But it’s been an awesome final stench of the year getting this thing out there.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Working on some local Philly/NJ shows for early 2024. I’d love to do some touring as well. We will see what the new year will bring us!

What are your plans for the this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
Working on some new music and hopefully a second record. Definitely some shows. There’s also some cool video projects in the works as well.

What were your New Year’s Eve activities like?
I’ve been stoked to be playing playing down in Key West, FL with my other band The Way Outs.

How can people best support your band?
Sharing our music with your friends always goes a long way. Any merch/vinyl purchases from our Bandcamp is always appreciated!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Everyone that’s been listening to us and buying records we can’t thank you enough. So much love to you all!
