Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Christian, Emanuele & Matteo (Stone Fist)

Stone Fist is a stoner/heavy rock band from Venice, Italy. The power trio was formed in 2022 by Christian Spolaore on guitar and vocals, Emanuele Perego on bass, and Matteo Vignocchi on drums. Their stoner rock sound is both raw and hypnotic, deeply rooted in the distorted, desert-inspired tones typical of the genre.

Since their early jam sessions, they have drawn inspiration from Stoner and Sludge icons such as Kyuss, Melvins, and Queens Of The Stone Age, cultivating a distinctive style that combines monolithic riffs, tight grooves, and psychedelic atmospheres. They embrace warm, sandy distortions, powerful bass lines, and massive drumming that shifts through slow, heavy rhythms and sonic explosions. Their lyrics delve into hallucinatory visions and introspection, intertwining with resonant, gritty melodies to create an intense, immersive listening experience.

In 2023, they released the music video for »Crazy Surgeon«. In 2024, they took the stage at the Maximum Festival, where they opened for Bongzilla. In May 2025, Stone Fist released their self-titled debut EP in digital format via Go Down Records.

Can you please say a few words about your band?
3 pieces stoner rock band from Venice (Italy) active since 2022. We met by chance but immediately understood that we were looking for the same stuff and sound. We have similar tastes in music but with different influences (and this is in our opinion the big added value). We are united by our love for rough, heavy, dirty and noisy sounds. When we play, each of us manage to put his own signature on the song.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Without hesitation we can tell you that the biggest challenge was to get into a record label cause it is not easy to find someone that gives credit to you and your project especially if it is new and build from scratch. But we found our actual label (Go Down records) which deals with bands similar to us with passion and professionality and they’re giving us a great help in promoting our music and playing around.

What can you be most proud of so far?
we are very proud to have received positive feedbacks from insiders. We stayed strong during the first year when nobody knew us and when it was hard to deal with finding clubs to play in…

What was your biggest regret?
We can tell you that actually we can’t think of any particular regret. We’re a relatively young band and we’re rising right now. So far we moved in the right way and the perseverance is paying off. We hope things continue as they are now.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Each of us experienced the concerts with different energy but probably the best was when we played at the maximun festival (managed by our label) and we opened for bongzilla. We didn’t have sign with the label yet but we had courting them for more than a year and one day the phone rings.. It was a good opportunity to introduce us to the audience who enjoyed the gig.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The biggest surprise was discovering that in north east Italy there’s a nice community which is very passionate about stoner/doom/alternative/hardcore music. There are many events on where you can listen to both local and international bands.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Christian: Except the great classics like Kyuss, Melvins, QOTSA I really love sludge metal (EyeHateGod, Weedeater, Buzzov•en just to mention some bands…).

Emanuele: My heavy rotation is various. Actually is a lot about Nirvana and Electric Wizard.

Matteo: On my heavy rotation there’s always space for QOTSA and All Them Witches.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
The best advice we received was at the beginning of our journey and it was to persevere in what we were doing even though it seemed that nothing was happening. We’re glad we did it.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Christian: I love listening to The Carpenters while I’m cleaning home.

Emanuele: Sometimes I listen to Gigi d’Agostino.

Matteo: I like dance/electronic music.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
In the upcoming months we’ll be promoting the album and we’re planning to start playing shows from late summer/early fall. We’re mainly aiming to perform in music clubs in northern Italy and, if all goes well, also in Germany.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
In the immediate future we plan to put a lot of effort into playing live in order to make a name for ourselves within the music scene. However we’re already working on new songs and aim to head into the studio towards the end of the next year to record a full-length album.

How can people best support your band?
The best way to support us is definitely by coming to our gigs and listening to our music. Alternatively you can follow us on social media and Bandcamp where you can also find the merch.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Never stop listening to and supporting local independent bands and going to live shows. Bands like us put their heart into what they do, and besides, live music is always awesome!
